Bjorn I got a question for you. If I were going to buy 5 vinyl records as a complete beginner in the "buying vinyl records" space, which ones should I buy? I'm going to take whatever you write back very seriously, so relish the power, my friend. :) Subscribed!
Thanks for asking! This topic is something I’ve had the urge to write about in the future, because I wondered the same thing when I started collecting vinyl. My short answer is this; it depends on what kind of music you like. Which I know, isn’t a very good answer, but it yields the most satisfying feeling when purchasing physical media.
For me personally, the 5 albums that I spin most often are:
1.) Blood on the Tracks-Bob Dylan
2.) The Songs of Bacharach and Costello-Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach
Hey Bjorn! I broke in my first Field Notes journal with this recommendation. I'll make sure to get these one day if I ever buy a record player here in Mexico City. Cheers! Thanks for the recs!
